No reason for the hiatus, really. Hopefully I'll be able to stick to a more regular posting schedule. Anyway, thought I'd link a fun thing to do with your last.fm data. There's a nice little app out there called Extra Stats, it will generate a number of different charts based on the data it gets from last.fm's audioscrobbler web services. My favorite is the wave chart, shown above using my last 2.5 years of listening history.
A side effect of the app is that it creates a directory with all your weekly top tracks lists in it, so you can use the data for whatever you want. I'd like to try using ManyEyes, I think a stack graph would be a nice viz for it. The data just needs a little more formatting.
